ST. LOUIS—The American Optometric Association has announced that InfantSEE, a program that provides no-cost, comprehensive infant eye and vision health assessments, marked its 20th anniversary this year, reporting that it has provided 174,000 assessments since launching in 2005. The program, managed by the AOA Foundation and backed since its inception by Johnson & Johnson, now includes more than 4,000 InfantSEE providers nationwide, the foundation said, of which more than 10 percent are recent optometry school graduates. A public health program, InfantSEE is designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life.
