Safilo Confirms It Will Not Make Offer for Inspecs Group

PADUA, Italy—Safilo Group S.p.A. said Monday it does not intend to make a firm offer for Inspecs Group. The announcement follows Inspecs’ Dec. 10 disclosure that the boards of Inspecs Group plc and Bidco 1125 Limited, a newly formed entity created for this purpose by entrepreneurs Luke Johnson and Ian Livingstone, had reached an agreement on terms and conditions for an acquisition. The proposed deal values Inspecs at roughly £85 million and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026, subject to shareholder approval and other customary conditions, according to Inspecs’ confirmation to the London Stock Exchange.
