OKYO Pharma Appoints Flavio Mantelli, MD, as Chief Medical Officer

LONDON and NEW YORK—OKYO Pharma Limited (Nasdaq: OKYO), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing investigational therapies for the treatment of neuropathic corneal pain (NCP) and inflammatory eye diseases, has announced the appointment of Flavio Mantelli, MD, Ph.D., as chief medical officer, effective immediately. Dr. Mantelli brings extensive experience in ocular surface drug development, according to the announcement. In his new role at OKYO Pharma, the company said Dr. Mantelli will oversee the company's clinical development strategy, including the advancement of urcosimod in planned clinical trials for NCP and additional orphan indications.
