FDA Approves Expanded Age Range for STAAR Surgical’s EVO ICL for Vision Correction

LAKE FOREST, Calif.—STAAR Surgical Company, a leading developer of phakic intraocular lenses with the EVO family of Implantable Collamer Lenses (EVO ICL) for vision correction, has announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved an expanded age indication for EVO/EVO+ Visian ICL for patients aged 21 to 60 years old, up from the previous approval for ages 21-45. This approval follows the recent publication of three-year FDA clinical trial safety data that reinforced the long-term safety profile of the EVO ICL, the company advised.
