The Vision Council Announces Publication of ANSI Z80.3-2025, Nonprescription Sunglasses, Fashion Eyewear Requirements

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Vision Council, as the secretariat administrator for Accredited Standards Committee Z80, has announced the publication by ANSI of the 2025 revision of Standard Z80.3, Nonprescription Sunglasses and Fashion Eyewear Requirements. This revision supersedes the 2018 Standard and represents over five years of work by a team of industry experts, led by chair Dr. Karl Citek, OD, Ph.D., representing the American Optometric Association, and Michael Vitale, ABOM of The Vision Council serving as the secretariat for ASC Z80, the announcement noted.
