Cherry Optical Makes Investment in U.S.-Based Lens Manufacturing

GREEN BAY, Wis.—Cherry Optical Lab (COL), a family-owned, independent wholesale optical laboratory, has announced a major series of expansions across its coating, surfacing, finishing and employment operations. This month, the company completed an update to its surfacing equipment that included replacing previously used Schneider surface blockers, generators, and polishers with Schneider’s Modulo ONE line of machines, the company said. “The previous generation of machinery installed in 2020-21 served us well. Our long-standing partnership with Schneider gave us the confidence to upgrade to the ONE series,” said Adam Cherry, president of Cherry Optical Lab. “These new machines have significantly increased the capacity, speed and resiliency of our digital surfacing operations.”
