Southeast Asia, Western Pacific Eye Health Leaders Convene in Thailand Ahead of Global Summit for Eye Health

BANGKOK, Thailand—The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), the global health alliance for eye health, has announced that 70 government leaders convened at its South Asia and Western Pacific Regional Consultation meeting from April 1-2 in Bangkok, Thailand, “to advance the transition from evidence to action” ahead of the upcoming inaugural Global Summit for Eye Health in November. IAPB said attendees included the state health minister of Bangladesh, deputy director general of the ministry of public health in Thailand, representatives from development partners and the World Health Organization (WHO) and members of the global eye health community.
