BOSTON—The New England College of Optometry (NECO) community celebrated its 2026 scholarship recipients on Thursday, April 16, 2026, with a ceremony recognizing their outstanding achievements in leadership, academic excellence, compassion, and clinical expertise, according to an announcement from the school. The program was hosted by Esther Bandoo-Gomes, director of financial aid, and co-hosted by Howard Purcell, OD, NECO’s president and CEO and Erik Weissberg, OD, vice president, the school said.
