EssilorLuxottica Acquires Faro to Advance Technologies in Eyewear Manufacturing

PARIS—EssilorLuxottica (Reuters: ESLX.PA) has announced the acquisition of Faro, an Italian company with more than 20 years of expertise in the design, manufacture and distribution of high-precision, computer numerical control (CNC) machinery for milling and diamond cutting, serving the jewelry and eyewear industries. Based in Santa Maria di Sala, Venice, in the region of Italy’s eyewear district, Faro offers integrated solutions, including both hardware and software, that allow for expanded creative and technological opportunities in frame and lens manufacturing, the company stated.
