Optical Industry Veteran Mark Geherin Passes Away at 75

AUBURN, N.Y.—Optical industry veteran Mark Geherin passed away on April 19 at the age of 75. He spent most of his career as an independent representative servicing wholesale labs in the Northeast during his 50-year career including such companies as Silor Optical, AO/Sola, Schneider Optical Machines, OptoTech, Ultra Optics and Art-Craft Optical. Born in Auburn, N.Y., Geherin was a Mount Carmel graduate and earned his optician's degree from Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y. He was president and owner of Mark E. Geherin Associates, Inc., which he founded in 2001, representing optical companies in the sale of optical equipment and supplies throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic region and lower Canada for over 50 years.
