STAAR Surgical Announces Changes to Its Board of Directors

LAKE FOREST, Calif.—STAAR Surgical Company (NASDAQ: STAA), a developer of implantable phakic intraocular lenses, has announced changes to its board of directors. The board has appointed Louis E. Silverman, who served on the company’s board from 2014-2022, as a director, effective April 24, 2025. The company also announced that Aimee S. Weisner, who has served as a director since 2022, has chosen not to stand for re-election to the board when her term expires at the company’s 2025 annual meeting of shareholders in June. In addition, the company announced that Wei Jiang, who has served as a director since 2024, has agreed to serve in a short-term role as a special strategic advisor to the company’s Asia Pacific business.
