DULUTH, Ga.—National Vision Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: EYE), one of the largest optical retail companies in the U.S., announced early this morning that Alex Wilkes has been appointed as the company’s next CEO, effective August 1, 2025. He will join the company’s board of directors at that time. Wilkes, who joined the company as president in August last year, succeeds longtime CEO Reade Fahs, who first joined National Vision, Inc., (NVI) in April 2002 as president and chief operating officer before ascending to CEO of NVI in January of 2003 and then National Vision Holdings in March 2014. As part of this leadership transition, Fahs will assume the role of executive chairman of the board and continue to work closely with Wilkes to ensure a smooth transition, the announcement stated.
