STAAR Surgical Reports First Quarter 2025 Results
Published on May 8, 2025
LAKE FOREST, Calif.—STAAR Surgical Company (NASDAQ: STAA), a leading developer of phakic intraocular lenses with the EVO family of Implantable Collamer Lenses (EVO ICL) for vision correction, has reported results for the first quarter ended March 28, 2025. Net sales were $42.6 million for the first quarter of 2025 compared with $77.4 million in the prior-year quarter, a 45 percent decrease that the company attributes primarily to a significant decline in China revenue, advising that purchases by the company's China distributors were minimal in the quarter as they consumed existing in-country inventory to satisfy procedural demand. The decline in first quarter net sales was partially offset by growth in other geographies, the company stated.
