
The Glaucoma Foundation Receives $2.5 Million Gift From the Herbert Simon Family Foundation to Establish a Chair in Glaucoma Research and Innovation

NEW YORK CITY—The Glaucoma Foundation (TGF) announced that it has received a $2.5 million endowment gift from the Herbert Simon Family Foundation, a private, foundation supporting equitable and sustainable communities, to establish the Herbert Simon Chair in Glaucoma Research and Innovation. The endowment will support the work of Alon Harris, MS, PhD, FARVO, an internationally renowned and leading clinical scientist in the field of ophthalmology and glaucoma, GTF said. Harris’s work extends from the development of novel diagnostic and monitoring approaches for managing glaucoma to artificial intelligence and digital twin applications that are enhancing the understanding of disease progression, according to the announcement.
