
Elizabeth Wyles, OD, Named Associate Dean of the College of Optometric Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke

PEMBROKE, N.C.—As the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Pembroke prepares to launch its new doctor of optometry program, the university announced it has named Elizabeth Wyles, OD, as associate dean of the College of Optometric Medicine, effective July 7. The appointment marks a significant milestone in the development of the doctor of optometry program, which was approved by the UNC System Board of Governors in 2024 with a plan to welcome its first class in the fall of 2027, the university noted. The school will be housed in a new $91 million health sciences building, as reported by VMAIL.
