University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry’s Julie DeKinder, OD, Appointed Chair of the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education

ST. LOUIS—The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) College of Optometry announced that Julie DeKinder, OD, a clinical professor of optometry, associate dean of academic programs and director of residency programs at the school, began her new role as chair of the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE), effective July 1. Dr. DeKinder replaces G. Timothy Petito, OD, president of Petito Eyecare, as chair; Dr. Petito remains an ACOE board member. Dr. DeKinder is the first faculty member from UMSL’s College of Optometry to have served on the ACOE board, according to the announcement.
