U.S. Eye Physicians, Researchers Launch #SeeWhatMatters Campaign to Protect National Eye Institute

WINTER PARK, Fla.—The American Academy of Optometry (AAOptom) announced yesterday that the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO), Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the National Alliance for Eye and Vision Research (NAEVR), the Alliance for Eye and Vision Research (AEVR), and AAOptom itself are coming together in defense of the National Eye Institute (NEI) amid threats to slash federal vision funding and consolidate the NEI into a broader neuroscience institute on brain and dental research.
