Midwestern University Appoints Brianne Hobbs, OD, as Dean of the Chicago College of Optometry

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.—Midwestern University announced the appointment of Brianne N. Hobbs, OD, Ph.D, FAAO, as the new dean of the Chicago College of Optometry (CCO). Dr. Hobbs officially assumed the role in July 2025. “Dr. Hobbs brings to the Chicago College of Optometry a profound blend of academic, clinical and strategic leadership experience,” said Joshua Baker, OD, interim president and chief executive officer of Midwestern University. “Her passion for education, record of innovation and familiarity with our mission make her an exceptional choice to lead the college into its next chapter.”
