ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Vision Council’s latest consumer research report reveals modest changes in consumer out-of-pocket spending during the second quarter, which the association said could stem from the uncertainty around future prices of imported goods and the reciprocal tariffs under the current administration. The report, titled Consumer inSights Q2 2025, highlights the views and behaviors of 12,075 respondents ages 18 or older—representative of the U.S. adult population—in relation to vision correction, managed vision care, eye exams, prescription eyewear, reading glasses and non-prescription sunglasses, according to an announcement from The Vision Council.
