Cynthia Steel, PhD, Appointed as Chief Scientific Officer of Glaucoma Research Foundation

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—The Glaucoma Research Foundation (GRF) has announced the appointment of Cynthia Steel, PhD, MBA, as chief scientific officer (CSO), effective August 11, 2025. Steel takes the post following a relationship with GRF that has spanned more than a decade, starting with a Shaffer Grant for Innovative Glaucoma Research, later serving as an industry partner, and most recently serving as a member of GRF's Research Committee, the group advised. In her new role, she will help to shape the foundation’s scientific strategy and support accelerated innovation.
