NEWTON, Mass.—GoodVision USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives in developing countries by providing high-quality and affordable vision care, announced it has delivered one million pairs of locally-manufactured eyeglasses to people in underserved communities worldwide. This historic milestone was achieved due to GoodVision’s manufacturing model in which more than 530 people across 11 countries were trained as community vision care providers to conduct free eye screenings and manufacture glasses for about $1 per pair, the announcement noted. “This achievement demonstrates how hyper-local approaches can scale globally while creating sustainable economic impact in the communities served,” GoodVision said.
