
Foundation Fighting Blindness Awards More Than $9 Million in New Research Grants in 2025

COLUMBIA, Md.—The Foundation Fighting Blindness, a private funding source for retinal degenerative disease research, announced it has awarded more than $9 million in new research grants for fiscal year 2025, funding 16 projects across six strategic programs aimed at accelerating treatments for inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) and age related macular degeneration (AMD). “These projects are not only advancing science—they are laying the groundwork for real, transformative therapies for patients,” said Amy Laster, Ph.D., chief scientific officer, Foundation Fighting Blindness.
