
STAAR Surgical Postpones Shareholder Meeting on Alcon Acquisition for Second Time; New Vote Is Set for December 3

GENEVA, Switzerland and LAKE FOREST, Calif.—STAAR Surgical Company (NASDAQ: STAA) announced on Monday a second postponement of its special stockholder meeting concerning the planned merger with Alcon (SIX/NYSE: ALC). Last scheduled for November 6, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., PT, the meeting has been moved to December 3, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., PT, STAAR Surgical said. The decision stems from ongoing discussions between STAAR and Alcon, the announcement noted. STAAR stated that stockholders who held shares as of the new record date, the close of business on October 24, 2025, are now eligible to vote at the rescheduled meeting on Dec. 3. STAAR said it will distribute the notice of the meeting and other relevant materials to these stockholders prior to the December 3 meeting.
