Optical Industry Veteran Ed Jankowski Passes Away at 72

POMPANO BEACH, Fla.—Edward “Ed” Jankowski, 72, of Pompano Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully on October 25, surrounded by loved ones and with his husband by his side, his family announced. Jankowski, born in Kingston, N.Y. and raised in Mahopac, N.Y., worked widely and successfully in the optical retail space, including as the COO of Solstice Sunglass Boutique and as part of Luxottica’s Luxury Retail Group, where he oversaw Ilori Optical, Optical Shops of Aspen and Persol stores. There, he developed innovative retail concepts and expanded the luxury optical footprint across North America.
