VERNON HILLS, Ill.—Europa Eyewear, a leading independent eyewear company, today announced the retirement of longtime president Jerry Wolowicz after more than four decades of service. It also announced the appointment of eyewear industry executive Andy Skitmore as his successor. Following a 43-year tenure with the company, Wolowicz will retire at the end of February this year, the announcement stated, leaving behind a legacy built alongside the Shapiro family. Under his stewardship, Europa has become known for a distinct portfolio of independent brands, customer-centric approach and family culture. He will remain actively involved with Europa in 2026 and beyond, serving on the board and providing strategic guidance, the announcement stated.
